Theme: Making paper from edibles

The paper-making vats will be filled with by-products from creating delicious treats for the Relish Festival: See what you can make with offcuts, peelings and a few petals! Hands-on papermaking with a tasty twist!

Studio Trails Gympie Region

This is an opportunity to visit my studio and see the backyard “playground” where I couch my paper, cook up my fibres, grow many of them, and create many of my larger works. The studio visit is free and works will be available for sale. For a gold coin donation, at 10am or 2pm you can join a Garden tour where you can see and hear about the many useful fibres found in your own backyard and our wonderful region.

Mary Poppins Festival,  Maryborough

Maryborough’s emphasis on cultural revival includes a re-think of the annual Mary Poppins Festival with a focus on literature. This year’s Festival presents a two week program of storytelling for all ages through all art forms. … The signature event is the Mary Poppins Festival Day in the Park. On this day I will be running a workshop day with a writer’s theme: making your own artist’s book. The techniques taught will be a Japanese stab binding to create a book for your drawing, poetry or keepsakes and an unusual “Tunnel” book using images if your own choice. This workshop will be advertised by the Fraser Coast Galleries closer to the date.
